Does Corsmed Provide Courses on MRI in General?

Short answer

Yes. Corsmed offers 10 courses, each consisting of multiple modules, where students will develop their MRI skills through a “learn by experimenting” approach.

In this approach, students will run multiple MRI scans on the simulator and change one setting a time – and then observe how that change affected the resulting image.

Every course starts with a small dose of theory and MRI physics. But the rest 80-90% is focused on letting the student learn by experimenting – i.e, by running multiple scans on the simulator, and then observe what happens when they change one setting vs another.

The image below shows an example of how you can compare the resulting images when tweaking a single parameter.

We have deliberately decided to keep the theory section short, because there are already so many books and courses that cover MRI theory in detail.

However, what students most lack are the practical skills and understanding – those that only come from performing lots of scans and observing what works and what doesn’t.

That is why 80-90% of course content focuses on the practical experimenting.

The topics covered in our 10 courses are:

  • 02. Instrumentation (Magnetic Field Strength & Coils)
  • 03. Sequences
  • 04. Image Optimisation – Part 1
  • 05. Image Optimisation – Part 2
  • 06. Artifacts
  • 07. Clinical Applications – Neuro
  • 08. Clinical Applications – Spine and Neck
  • 09. Clinical Applications – Musculoskeletal MSK
  • 10. Clinical Applications – Body (Abdomen, Pelvis, Breast & Thorax)
  • 11. Clinical Applications – Cardiac MR

Each courses focuses on a specific subset of scanner settings. For example, the courses on Image Optimisation focus on scanner settings like Echo Time (TE), Repetition Time (TR), and Slices. This helps students learn how a real MRI scanner works one setting at a time.

All steps in these courses are also illustrated with clear instructions and images of the simulator interface. So students will be able to follow along easily.

In the image below, you can see an example of how we illustrate each step in detail:

Conclusion

Corsmed's provides 10 MRI comprehensive courses covering multiple aspects of MRI, from instrumentation to clinical applications.

The courses follow a "learn by experimenting" approach, which helps students gain hands-on skills. By running multiple scans and observing the impact on the resulting images, students learn how the theory can be applied in practice.
